Property Gateway

Property Gateway is a great tool for property information. However the newly added print map function is extremely time consuming. Is there a way to print without having to enter info in three different fields everythime you need to print. For us municipal users it is not effective especially when printing many pages.

  2. alt+print screen.

paste and crop in other application (e.g. a report in MS Word, or Powerpoint) and move on.

First, thank you for your suggestion. The information that we are asking customers to provide is used to help staff troubleshoot in the event of issues arising with the production or delivery of individual maps. In those cases, the information provided will help us distinguish one map from another and find the one that a customer may have a question about. That said, we will review ways that we can still accomplish this requirement, while allowing the users to add less information to each print and look to implement in a future release of the product.

  4. Since it seems you are accepting comments, I have to note that some other municipal sites have much more information available on property values and don't charge anything to see or print it. While I like this site as an easy way to find a property and get the basics, and understand that there may need to be a charge for such services, this site does seem lacking in the detail available to the users, especially as we go into the March property assessment reviews. Just an opinion from a first time user and reviewer of assessments.

  5. I agree with Cory.

Florida county tax info is available on line at NO charge. It's public info.

  6. Mr. Johnston - extreme caution should be used if your research is intended to follow property assessments.

Since the March Board of Review is in session in so many communities, property assessments are currently "proposed" - you will also note that the gateway shows 2010 assessments - which were based upon the proprty situs as of 12/31/2009 and in turn based on market information from approximately 09/2008 through 09/2009 (research actual time frames at the Michigan State Tax Commission site)

Also be aware, while Oakland County aggregates local community assessment information, the best source for property assessment information is in fact with your local assessor - or with the County Equalization Department if they happen to be the contractual assessor for your community.
