ENFORCE NO-SMOKING LAW IN WORKPLACE

Oakland County Health Department and the police need to work together to impliment this great law. I work in an office where a tenant (just happens to be a lawyer) smokes cigars EVERYDAY!! I have filed complaints, spoke to the Health Department, nothing is getting done and he gets away with it. It comes up through the vents and affects my asthma-causing a health hazard in the workplace. Not to mention, It STINKS! We have other tenants that have complained as well, and nothing has been done and it continues. Please HELP!

  2. I am sure if the laws allowed, or were written, to ban smoking in ALL buildings or something similar, they would do something. Suggest you work with the landlord of the building or move on to a job somewhere else. Have you tried to speak with this person? If not, too bad.

Additionally there is a complaint procedure here: http://www.michigan.gov/documents/mdch/Reporting_Violations_of_Public_Act_188_319547_7.pdf

Not that I expect anyone in State Government to do much as since the passage of Headlee they continually pass the buck onto local/county governments without providing funding for it.
